Location Search and Map View options

A host of options are available in the menu – namely you can find a specific location by typing or simply copy-pasting the coordinates in the search. go full screen to work without any distractions, toggle between a 2D and 3D map environment, and adjust the globe and base layer translucency.

Type the name of the location or simply copy-paste the coordinates of a location to find it.

To find a location, do the following:

  1. Login to platform.

  2. Click the Globes module and then click the Explore module.

  3. Do one of the following:

    1. Type the name of the location and then select the relevant search result. For example, type Hong Kong and then select the relevant result.

  4. Press Enter.

The location is accurately displayed in the map interface.

Full Screen Mode

Imagine being able to work distraction free – without the left panel (Layers) and the right panel (Contextual Details). With the Full Screen Mode, you can do it.

To turn on full screen mode, do the following:

  1. Login to platform.

  2. Click the Globes module and then click the Explore module.

  3. Click the Full Screen Mode icon on the Map interface menu.

    Full screen mode is activated.

Globe and Basemap Translucency

In case, you cannot view the layers or footprints on the map, adjust the globe or basemap translucency for better visibility.

To turn on the globe and basemap translucency, do the following:

  1. Login to platform.

  2. Click the Globes module and then click the Explore module.

  3. Click the Adjust Translucency icon on the Map interface menu.

  4. In the dialog, move the slider to decrease or increase the translucency of globe and base layer.

2D/3D Map View Toggle

At times, you may have to use the map view toggle for better visualization, exploration, or analysis of the geospatial data. You can do it with the map toggle.

To turn on the map view toggle, do the following:

  1. Login to platform.

  2. Click the Globes module and then click the Explore module.

  3. Click the Map View icon on the Map interface menu to view 2D or 3D map view.
